As disparate as people so are their “Quartiere”. Each has its own – simply by virtue of its location. Sometimes self-confident and clear, so that a glance is enough. Sometimes quiet and reserved, difficult to read, demanding all the attention.

In each case, fitting resident are closely connected to these different quarters. I was able to experience this in many different real estate stories. Read my favorite real estate stories.

1-room flat in Munich’s museum district

Culture, university, city centre – garden building (!)

A city apartment between Karolinen­platz, Pinakothek der Moderne and opposite the film academy. Museums, Odeonsplatz, the opera, Marienplatz – the whole city center – within walking distance. The car is parked in the under­ground garage.

Unexpectedly quiet in this central location! The apartment is located in the rear building with an idyllic view of inner-city gardens.

A fully furnished and equipped apartment. All carpentry work with practical, functional fixtures adapted to the size of the apartment. <

A wooden house with a stream for two+

in Feldafing on Lake Starnberg

On a hillside property by a stream, a married couple realised their retirement home. A wooden house for two. Designed and planned by their own children, who run a successful architecture firm. The floor plan was adapted to the current living situation, deliberately dispensing with the un­neces­sary, yet still providing free space and generosity. The wooden terrace – a favourite place with a rustling backdrop.

Once again, the children got in­volved and created a joint family residence for three generations in an equally idyllic location. Under one roof, finally space for all! It is with a heavy heart that the wooden house is sold. After all, so many good memories of a happy time are attached to it. A feat of strength for all involved! <

Quartiere Immobiliengeschichten: Holzhaus am Starnberger See

> “That’s my house!” could be heard enthusias­ti­cally from the living room. But negotia­tions were quickly taken up with other clients. A deep disap­point­ment among the interested parties, the search was shelved inde­fini­tely.

At the last moment, the so pro­mising talks failed because so much more had to fit. “Mrs Küpper, my heart is jumping!” I heard on the other end of the phone line when I dialled the saved number after eight weeks. After that, everything went very quickly and completely un­compli­cated. He was right – it’s her house!

A real roof terrace in Nymphenburg

Sales period: 6 months

A lush roof terrace at the Nymphenburger Schloßpark enriched the portfolio for a long time. One spent in this “penthouse for two” even some beautiful years until offspring and thus the priorities shifted. Subsequently rented several times, the jewel came into the years. In the course of the family-internal restructuring one decided with a heavy heart for the sale. <

> With a trained eye and undaunted, a couple took on this penthouse. It has always been their wish to live in Munich. But before it is so far not insignificant renovation measures must be mastered. Everyone pulls together, and the new owners are warmly welcomed into the community. This encourages them to tackle the project with motivation and verve. It will be a gem!

Sailing boats, excursion steamers, the Andechs monastery or the mountain range – the view sticks, no matter what!

Sale not achieved

Finally a family apartment in Munich! On two floors, this apartment combines different areas: open living for relaxed family life, but also seclusion to meet the need for retreat. In a wonderful green, quiet location directly at the Luitpoldpark in Schwabing. <

> A young family immediately felt at home. Plans for the future were made, everything was mentally set up, further offsprings planned and the rooms distributed. I began to prepare the sale with the notary – all were on the same page. Then shocking news: personal circumstances had changed and caused the sellers to completely and unexpectedly withdraw from the sale. What a disappointment! However, it was comprehensible. It just was not to meant to be!

Best address, all museums, many galleries and jazz around the corner. A cosmopolitan family, six years in Munich, until they decided to move to the next big European city. Happy years in an excellently equipped neighborhood. <

Nevertheless, it was time for the residents to follow their actual dream – a house by the lake. <

The clients bought a plot of land through me, on which a detached house is to be built according to own plans. Only four years ago the family moved into a cozy corner house, which is now being sold. With absolutely safe handling, the wife designs interiors, exteriors and daily decorations. Every little corner on all three floors is wisely used, the floor plan is family-friendly and suitable for everyday life. There is nothing more to add – the prospective buyers are thrilled! <

Sales period: 13 months

Entirely an artist household, parents and children are all musicians. An architect’s house from the 60’s with a music hall and a lavish, wildly romantic garden with almost 900 sqm. A diva with rough edges! But it feels like it all takes forever. Because then the courage was missing and a leasehold is not wanted, no one can quite decide.

First doubts are already arising among the sellers – is the real estate agent doing everything right here? <
